Go2Web20 is a Web 2.0 tool directory. It is organized by tags, common terms given to describe the site. All one needs to do is click on the "tags" drop down menu. A list of tags, clouded for conviencence, will pop up. Click on the tag that bests describes the tool you are looking for. A list of icons will drop down of all the sites that have been tagged with that choice. Click on any icon and check out the site.

There is a lot of sites here and it may look intimidating to some. One does not need to look at everything. It is like a phonebook. Check out the sites you are looking for.

Photoblog is another blogging site. It's purpose is to display and share pictures. You can comment on others pictures and they can comment on yours. It is completely free. This would be a great way for an art class or artist to display their pictures or photographs. It could also be used in a photography class. You can summit pictures according to photoblog's themes or just simply blog about photos you have taken. When you summit a photo you can tag it according to the theme or content. You can search the tags for specific pictures.

However, the entire browser is pre-filtered and only allows child friendly material.Your child will recieve an avatar, digital cartoon image, as the first step to ensuring digital safety. They can change this image at anytime and add to it as well.

As is the case with any open-source, you may purchase more abilities. Those abilities will give you printable reports on where you child has been, how long and more. Check out this incredible idea of a browser.

Enchantedlearning.com is a membership website with free access to various printables. I have used this site with K - 4 kids on animal research projects. It has great pictures of animals with small amounts of information about each animal. The site has much, much more than just science applications or use. It has math, language arts, social studies, music and more. I would use this site if you are looking for printing various activities, songs and/or information off the internet.

I have never purchased a membership and would love to know what else the site has to offer with a membership.

Literactive.com is a great site for beginning readers. You must first create an account. It is free. On the site there are activities that focus on pre-reading development such as visual discrimination, memory, matching, and first letter sounds. There are also various reading levels, books and activities to go with each level. My son who is 3 can do some of the beginner activities. It also works with beginning comprehension and sequencing. Each level has a list of grammar components and what the text will focus on. There is also a section with worksheets you can download and print off to work with after. I think it is a great site for K - 2 and even 3. I have only looked briefly at the site but it was recommend by a K - 2 teachers who has been teaching for 25 + years.

Learning Page is a great site filled with activities for math, reading, spelling, science and lots of other links. Simply create an account... it is free. Go to which activities you like and print them off. This site is filled with a reading series called Tommy Tales. Each book has questions related to that book and other activities to go with. The science portion is filled with dinosaurs, ocean animals, reptiles, and many more. Learning page also has basic work with number, alphabet, time, money and more. Each worksheet is geared towards a certain Grade. The site has activities from Pre K - Grade 3. Have fun.

Starfall is a educational reading site. The site is filled with various activities and books to read. It is a great way to teach and reinforce reading while using technology. It has very basic work with the alphabet and letters then slowly works into short vowels, vowel combinations and so forth. Definitely suitable for K - 2 and for early grade 3. It also has seasonal books and activities like pumpkin, turkey, groundhog and lots of others. The download center is filled with free printable worksheets and activities that you can download and print at your convenience.

I have used this site a lot when teaching K, 1, 2 and have found kids to enjoy it. I have seen students make connections between what we are doing in class and having fun on the computer.
